LIES – Big Bang November 13, 2011

The second song I heard by the infamous Bigbang.

As any other Bigbang fan would know the song was written by their leader Kwon Ji Young, or as most people know him as, G-Dragon or GD.

It apparently took him a long time to finish the song for HIS album or for him to release as his solo single at least. His dreams were crushed when his company’s president, YG himself, told him that the song will be sung by not only him but in five different parts for YG’s first idol group, Big Bang.

He was heartbroken, as anyone in his sane mind would be.

He eventually got over it.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

When I first heard the song I honestly did not understand it. It was Korean, need I say more?

The phrase that really caught me was “I’m so sorry but I love you.” It wasn’t the first time I heard about it but it felt very Shakespearian.

The song is basically about a guy who broke up with a girl because of the spur of the moment anger, and maybe discontent. He then later realized he loved and needed the girl too much.

The whole song is like a love letter, as any other love song, asking for the girl to come back, that he made a mistake. That he needs her.

The song starts with a monologue that expresses the bitter feeling of a guy towards romance and love due to his past mistake. He can’t forgive himself for what he did, and didn’t do, the biggest mistake he ever committed, letting her walk away.

He can’t forget the memories they shared, the image of love walking away.  The thought of him letting her walk away. He tells himself to forget her but he can’t help himself. He tells himself that he loves the girl that he’s sorry but then again, because for some reason, love is gone so he just tries to convince himself that it was all a lie.

It was a lie that he ever loved her.

It’s a lie that he wants her back.

It’s a lie that he needs her.

It’s a lie that he was stupid enough to let her walk away.

Whatever he does he still ends up at the start of the circle he unknowingly created, unable to break free of her every move.

He did everything to make the regret go away, it does for a moment, but then it comes back and makes the days grow longer. Without her there’s no way to express himself, he can’t smile nor cry. He knows it’s wrong to think this way, he knows he has to let go. It’s too late to go to her now.

He wants to forget her but he can’t. He feels alone without her. He holds on to the last thing she left him, even if its pain. The chorus keeps saying ‘I’m so sorry but I love you.” We all know what it means so I won’t lament on the obvious.

He tells her that he knows better now, he knows he hurt her, and that he loves her, that he is sorry for whatever he did before.

In the end he has no other way to go but accept the fact that he has to let her go and say goodbye.

THE SONG.

I know a few Kpop songs at that time but never down right hip hop, so you can imagine my amazement at the level of this song that has taken the world by storm.

I can’t say I wasn’t surprise, I was shocked. My reaction was I didn’t know it was even possible.

For me Bigbang with the song LIES made me push the break. I was never the biggest fan of hip hop and RnB but these guys opened a whole new world for me.

As said earlier, the song is very much like any other love song, ballad or otherwise. But it somehow exudes reality, actual people, actual pain, actual love. It doesn’t talk of the stars in the heaven but downright regret.

It’s real. Love IS pain. What is love without it?

It does take time to let go of someone you love dearly, truly, it might even take a lifetime. People do regret of letting go of someone, lover or otherwise. But even if it does take a lifetime of pain in small doses, you will find happiness in large amounts, you will be happy again, you will love again.

Nobody said you can’t be happy with pain. Nobody said that happiness means happily ever after, we only assume it is.

Happiness is reaching the point of your life where you know you’ve done something wrong once, twice or a few times, but still that moment made you realize life, the meaning of life. You let go of that moment but you never forget the moment.

You make one mistake. That mistake teaches you what to do better next time, because there is ALWAYS a next time.

THE VIDEO

It was a weird video I have to say. I don’t really get the connection of some parts,  like the part she can’t remember. I get the part with the mistake and all that but I don’t really get if the whole thing has significance with the song, some parts maybe, but not the whole thing.

Anyways, who cares? The video for me was emotional enough and really good.  The storyline was good, almost movie like.

I like the end of the video wherein GD just fades into the background behind the bars. I also like one other concept, the five guys acting like her memories slowly coming back to her. It was somehow very original.

LISTEN.

It’s definitely something anyone would like. The beat was fine, the rap was great and the singing could not be better.

Then again, I’m a hands down fan girl so I’m really bias…+_+…

***thanks to YG’s page in youtube for the video***

JUUI DOO LITTLE November 13, 2011

CASTS: Oguri Shun ( Tottori Kenichi (Dolittle)), Inoue Mao(Tajima Asuka), Narimiya Hiroki(Hanabishi Masaru), Fujisawa Ema(Fudo Rumi), Kasahara Hideyuki(Domon Yuzo), Suda Masaki(Domon Junpei), Ishizaka Koji(Professor Tomizawa), Kunimura Jun(Director Domon)

I was kind of hesitant watching it but in the end ended up watching it.

I thought that I’d get bored with this drama but watched it anyway since it stars my Oguri Shun.

Why?

This is Oguri Shun we’re talking about.

Anyways enough with the fandom, was it good?

Definitely. I really enjoyed the first episode.

The series is about a veterinarian who claims that being aveterinarian is a business. He’s foul mouthed but very skilled nonetheless.

He claims that he could care less about the owners but in the end helps both the owners and the pet to learn a little more about themselves and about each other.

I thought it would be boring but I really enjoyed the little time, only nine episodes, I spent in front of my TV.

I think it would be a shame to give out too much about the drama with my review because I had too little time I spent with it.

So…

DO YOU WATCH IT?

It is a very short drama which, like all the other short dramas, leaves you wanting for more, an SP at least.

I know people probably think about how Japanese Shakespeare’s could possibly make something so plain be great and interesting and probably doubts me right now. One thing is for sure, anyone would definitely find it interesting. Maybe find out that you would like a pet as well, find out more than you signed up for.

THE LET DOWNS…

There weren’t much except it’s a little too short, in a good way.

And since it is a short series your left with background questions like Juui’s family, what was that about? father figure perhaps?

The biggest question would be if they end up with each other. There weren’t that many scenes to suggest that they do end up together or that they even liked each other, but at the same time what was the end all about?

You would also probably ask if there really was a love triangle.

At the start it gives off that kind of feeling which eventually fades away but still you’re left with that part wherein you are doubting as to who does Mao’s character really identify better with.

In the end you ask more questions and want more that is given.

HEARTSTRINGS November 13, 2011

CASTS: Jung Yong Hwa(Lee Shin), Park Shin Hye(Lee Kyu Won), Song Chang Ui(Kim Suk Hyun), So Yi Hyun(Jung Yoon Soo), Woo Ri(Han Hee Joo), Kang Min Hyuk(Yeo Joon Hee), Lee Hyun Jin(Hyun Ki Young), Im Se Mi(Cha Bo Woon) …

When I first heard about Heartstrings I immediately thought something like the Japanese drama Akai-ito, but a little less dramatic, and complicated.

I have a habit of letting the drama finish first before watching the whole thing at once, judge it as a whole, not just because certain episodes. I like to see how it evolves, both the story and everyone involved, not just those we know of but also those behind the scenes.

The first episode wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either, maybe it was the reason most people didn’t appreciate it, and the fact that it had to go against City Hunter.

Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t great but it was only a step or two behind from greatness.

For me, a drama should be done this way, slowly captivating and never lacking.

Most dramas start really strong and then they gradually fade, but people can’t stop watching because no one really stops once they’ve started, they just keep on going no matter what the consequence is. It’s not a bad thing but people tend to think more of first impression this way, they forget the potential of the people and the story.

I agree that first impressions lasts, but still it doesn’t make it right.

<iframe width=”420″ height=”315″ src=”http://www.youtube.com/embed/rFgFlJw8HGk” frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen>

The first episode was fun to watch, it doesn’t have the mysterious effect but it makes you anticipate. The characters were interesting and fun. They don’t make your head hurt but I enjoyed time spent with them, it’s like a first encounter, as if this might happen in real life, that it’s happening right before your eyes.

The whole story wasn’t made to make you think, it does make your heart skip a beat or two, it wouldn’t make you think what is going to happen next, you already know what is going to happen, you already know who is going to end up with who, but it does make your mind imagine things like is there really a Lee Shin out there?

What I liked the most about the story wasn’t the uniqueness but the reality of the characters reaction. Let’s take Yong Hwa’s character for example.

On the near end, when the frame up is in the midst of its uproar Lee Shin did not act like any other hero, instead he selfishly wanted to protect Kyu Won. He didn’t care who gets hurt, he only thought of the person he cares for, no one else mattered. Any normal human being would immediately save their love ones first and think of the others later, that includes himself. You won’t think what will happen next, you’ll just do it, no matter who else gets hurt.

THE ACTORS

I have to say that Yong Hwa has grown a lot in acting, those eyes mean more than words.

When I watched YB before he was already quite promising, I even thought that he was really an actor acting like a singer, I even suspected lip syncing. At that time you could tell that he was new to acting but it wasn’t bad at all. Although there were times when I would feel that his acting was shallow, he wasn’t bad at all but his eyes didn’t have that much value before, they were just eyes.

With Heartstrings he proved one thing that matters greatly, he wasn’t bad at all, he became better.

He really did move my heart with this series. He should accept roles that require more crying or anger, maybe someone even dying. He was so promising that I can feel his anger and frustration when he shouted at Kyu Won in the middle of the street in pouring rain.

His eyes played the most parts, those eyes are the emotion, the heart of the series. When he was on the scene it was as if his heart is within his eyes. You felt the emotion, you did not just see it.

Kyu Won’s love-hate relationship with his grandfather was fun to watch as well. I have to say that I really looked forward to her grandfather’s scenes. He portrayed a perfect role for someone who is very traditional and old people in general. He was really fun to watch.

Park Shin Hye wasn’t bad as well but I have to say that I enjoyed Yong Hwa better in this series than her. What I can commend her in is her dancing skills, I didn’t even know she had it her.

Another star that improved a lot is Min Hyuk.

I watched him briefly in a drama series, I don’t really remember the title, I didn’t even get thru the first episode, it was too emotional for my capacity. Anyways, I watched him in some fast forwarded scenes there and he was literally like a fly in the wall. All he did was follow other characters. End.

With Heartstrings he really exuded his talent in acting. He was really good in this one. I especially like his scenes with Woo Ri, he was like a cute lost puppy. For a time I even believed that he really somehow senile or something, that is how convincing he was. Never once in the drama did I think of him as Min Hyuk but always as Joon Hee.

I would really like to see him in roles wherein he plays a bad boy.

Speaking of Woo Ri,  she was good in Heartstrings. She isn’t great yet but she’s getting there, a little more heart and she will hit a homerun. I felt her as a character but never as Hee Joo herself. I really liked her character on the series. You know very well since the beginning that Hee Joo will be the evil b*** but that you won’t really hate, you can’t really hate her.

THE LET DOWNS…

There weren’t any.

I honestly felt contented with how the story went.

There were no unclosed ends and the “love characters” spent enough time with each other that you can’t really ask for more.

The ending was good and happy people went home.

DO YOU WATCH IT?

YES. A definite yes.

It wouldn’t entertain your brain that much except for all the traditional stuff, but it will definitely cause your heart to die of happiness.

I COME WITH THE RAIN August 23, 2011

CASTS:Josh Hartnett(Kline), Elias Koteas(Hasford), Lee Byung-Hun(Su Dongpo), Takuya Kimura(Shitao), Shawn Yue(Meng Zi)

This movie was hands down unexpected.

When I first heard about I Come with the Rain, I thought that it would be one of those action films that is full packed with people shooting people, blood everywhere, cars flying, and basically your average action movie with a little brain twist here and there.

It was that, but weirder.

It had action in most scenes, some, the cruelest I’ve ever seen, but it was no little brain tease for me.

The beginning of the movie suggest that you’ll get what is to happen next then it jumps to two years later and you’re thinking what the hell was that, by the time you reach Takuya Kimura’s part, you’re probably asking yourself what you are thinking about because you know you’re thinking but you don’t really know what you are thinking about.

You are basically left asking questions, and finding answers in the weirdest circumstances.

In between they would show scenes that would explain what happened two years before but really those scenes exist just to make more questions.

All the answers come by the near end.

I think I was already near the middle plot when I started connecting the dots.

Most movies that I watch with this kind of plot, I start very early in the movie when connecting the dots, finding the way around the maze.

With this movie on the other hand, I was simply looking at the dots and not really getting what I should do next.

It’s like having the pen and the answer to the questions in front of me but somehow I forgot how to use my hands, my brain is functioning and I know what I’m supposed to do, I know what is happening, but I’m still not aware that I know it.

Then Lee Byung Hun’s character appears and all of a sudden you’re facing a psychotic maniac who is like Shakespeare in love.

Mr. Kline, Josh Hartnett, doesn’t make it any easier for you to understand anyone. He jumps from a cop to a cop who identified himself too much as a killer to someone who is eagerly running away from the man he became.

But one thing I can vouch for is that all the guys in the movie were great, exceptionally amazing.

They never, even once in the movie disappointed me. The lead actress on the other hand is more than what my brain could handle.

There really wasn’t any lead female character in the movie except for the girl who played the whore-slash-Mary Magdalene, but she was somehow the worst I’ve ever seen.

I mean she was good in all the whore parts but her acting was too much for my emotional capacity, as if the plot of this movie isn’t a headache enough.

Yes, she’d pass as drug addict but the crying and the acting was not good, not good at all. What was that?

Everyone in the cast made me think wow, she made me think she was lost. All the over acting movements like she’s starring in one of those silent films where you need to act more to make the audience feel, except this movie had sound. It was really bad.

All in all, the actors were great…

…except for her of course.

Anyways…

The movie, made me think too much.

The plot was somewhat like the Passion of the Christ, as mentioned in the movie, meets The Last Temptation of Christ meets The Godfather with a twist of an all time Japanese originality.

It was interesting to watch but really weird.

Once you’ve reached half of the movie you will start to understand the story and what it is all about.

The whole time I was watching it I was saying, this is weird or a long oh.

Do you watch it or not?

If you like mystery meets weirdness, in short if you liked Battle Royale, watch it. It’s definitely worth your time. It would make you think. Endlessly.

One advice though, don’t stop yourself from saying its weird because it is.

If you’ve never seen the infamous Battle Royale, I suggest you watch that movie and that, you might not appreciate the uniqueness of this story.

It’s good but each person has his own passing grade for greatness, it’s not the same for everyone.

I might think that this movie’s originality is worthy of an award but others may think that it’s a waste of time and effort. It really depends on who you are.

DREAM HIGH March 25, 2011

CASTS: Suzy(Go Hye Mi ), Kim Soo Hyun( Song Sam Dong ), Taecyeon( JinGook / Hyun Shi Hyuk ), Ham Eun Jung(Yoon Baek Hee), Wooyoung(Jason), IU (Kim Pil Sook) …

When Dream High fever hit shore, I wasn’t included in its welcoming party. Even though everyone was invited, I decided to sit in idle in a corner. At that time I simply wasn’t looking forward to it. I somehow felt that most of the cast was a little too inexperienced.

I have to say that in the end I ate my words.

When I watched the first episode it wasn’t what I expected. It exceeded my expectations. I thought that it would be a little too teeny but it wasn’t. Okay, maybe it was, a little, but it was fun.

THE ACTORS

I am a fan of Miss A’s music but I didn’t know the people within the group, I only know them as Miss A. I listened to their music but that was all. I’ve never watched a performance or read an article about them. So when they said one of its members was a part of the cast of Dream High I wasn’t expecting much.

Suzy’s acting were a bit shallow in a few scenes. I don’t know if it was because her character was supposed to be a cold metal robot, but it somehow felt as if she was restricting herself. Her full body shots were a bit stiff, awkward. It felt as if she was restricting her movements. She wasn’t at ease about how she should move, but whatever she lacked in movements she paid for in emotions.

The emotion on her face was really amazing. You feel the language of her eyes, the emotion it exudes. It also amazed me at how good she was at crying, the tears simply kept falling.

Another great thing about Suzy was every time she acts cold and the camera focuses on her face, it felt natural, it felt real, as if this person really is Go Hye Mi.

I have always been a big fan Kim So Hyun. I first saw him in “Will it snow for Christmas?” and I simply fell head over heels for him. I can’t deny this guy’s talent and capability. He can be funny, emotional and irrational, and now he even sings.

The way he fluctuates from one character to another, one emotion to another, is hands down amazing, he can be anyone, and for Dream High he was indeed Song Sam Dong from the accent to the gestures. When his character acted stupid he did look stupid, when Sam Dong was angry he was angry.

Another great thing about him is that honest to goodness innocent face. I know I sound like a total fan girl but I can’t help but point out that truthfully innocent face.

The first time I saw Taecyeon act was in Cinderella’s Sister. I immediately thought that he has talent. He was a bit shallow in certain parts for CS but he was good enough to play alongside Moon Geun Young. I’m still at awe with the amount of tears he shed, especially for a tough guy like him. He has proven himself in singing, rapping and dancing and now he has acting.

I know that he has a lot to learn but I think I’ll be looking forward to his future projects. The things that he has to improve on are those eyes of his. Yes, they have emotion, and yes they communicate to the audience, but there are times wherein those eyes act cute instead of emotional. It’s not bad, but it somehow bothers me. Other than that everything else he can learn in the process.

IU and Woo Young. These two will never be the same apart. They were really cute together. Their story was the only thing that did not confuse me and yet bewildered me.

I wasn’t a fan of IU before Dream High, I wasn’t even aware of her songs, or of her. Hate me all you want but I really had no idea she existed before Pil Sook was born in Dream High.

To be honest the first time I heard IU sing was for her audition in Kirin High, I have to say I was simply blown away. Her voice was really amazing. It was raspy and new. It made you feel at ease, her character Pil Sook was just as amazing.

It never occurred to me, even for a moment that she wasn’t Pil Sook. She never felt raw or shallow. People say that you’d know that you are doing a great job in acting when people end up loving or hating your character, and in the end no one forgot the lovable Pil Sook.

I’ve always been a fan of 2pm and Woo Young was one of my six, formerly seven, favorites. I really liked Woo Young because he was always funny and entertaining, and now I love him even more.

In the drama he played the very talented Jason.  There were times in the drama when he would over react but it would come out as something really funny. I have to say that I completely recognize his talent in acting and dancing and singing, now more than ever. He looked really cool and confident in his scenes.

One other thing I really liked about him were those eyes. If you really look at those eyes they are so cold, no emotion whatsoever. It amazed at how much emotion he could muster up with just a few movements.

Lastly is Ham Eun Jung. When she acted in Coffee House her emotions were a bit shallow, I guess one of the factors for that as well was the fact that her character was a pushover. That is why I think that she displayed almost here full potential for Dream High. She always had a fierce character on stage, acting as a meek follower of a famous writer was a bit awkward. On the other hand acting as Yoon Baek Hee seemed like the right role for her, nice but not so nice. She was originally a VERY good person that became a monster that ended up being a fierce-good-person. It was absolutely perfect for her.

I have to admit that this was actually the first time I ever heard her to actually sing a tune, I only hear her rap parts clearly, and I have to admit that she was actually good, really good.

THE LET DOWNS

The ending.

Sam Dong is on his way back right? I mean he promised Hye Mi that he’d come back after he has proven himself to the world right? So he is on his way home, right?

Who will Jin Gook end up with? Is it Baek Hee? Or was i feeling something between him and Hye Mi’s sis? Baek Hee and Jin Gook seem to understand each other more than anything so why not?

The last episode seemed a little too fast, one moment they were auditioning and then the next they were saying goodbye. One moment Sam Dong finds his picture on Hye Mi’s wallet, and the next they are both crying.

This is one of the biggest problems in most dramas and series and movies I’ve watched, the main characters, the ones that actually end up with a happily ever after, has less than enough scenes that they are actually together. We don’t see even a glimpse of a happy together.

Okay, fine, there are scenes, most scenes, are “them together”, but none of those scenes are “the actual them together”. Most of those scenes are either one or both have not yet realized they like each other or that they are supposed to be together.

Yes, the fast paced last episode made the series more mysterious especially with regards to who singer K is, but it simply seemed too fast. They should have at least celebrated a big birthday party for Hye Mi, with heart stopping eye popper scenes

DO YOU WATCH IT?

The whole series is about a batch of students in Kirin High who are pursuing and finding their dream. It is like Fame meets Jungle Fish.

I wasn’t really looking forward to the series but I ended up liking it, loving it even.

I just have to commend the producers especially in the music department.

The covers were amazing. I listened to the originals through YouTube and other friendly sites and I have to say that the originals themselves were amazing as well. My theory is that what made the covers good was because it did not drift that far from the original. The tempo may have increased or decreased, they have added a few tones but the basic tunes were still there which made the songs as beautiful as the original.

In summary, DO I RECOMMEND YOU TO WASTE YOUR TIME WATCHING IT?

Yes. Need I say more?

CASTS: Hyun Bin(Kim Joo Won),  Ha Ji Won(Gil Ra Im), Yoon Sang Hyu(Choi Woo Young / Oska), Kim Sa Rang(Yoon Seul), Lee Philip(Im Jong Soo), Lee Jong Suk(Han Tae Ssun)

– The first thing i liked about SG is it’s setting and OST. In a word they both resonate throughout the series.

It was very exciting from the very start, you keep on looking forward to the part where the two characters meet.

I have to say that Ha Ji Won was perfect for Gil Ra Im. The fight scenes that she had to do fitted Ji Won perfectly.

The very first thing that caught my attention was the thing that Ra Im does with her feet when she has that “fluffy feeling”, it was absolutely cute.

There are also parts in the story wherein Joo Won keeps looking over Ra Im. It is as if he can’t get enough of her, as if she’d disappear if he even blinks for a second. The thing that makes that part special in this series is that they were consistent. I don’t really know who to credit for this but

BLOODY MONDAY Season One January 28, 2011

CASTS: Miura Haruma as Takagi Fujimaru (Falcon), Kawashima Umika as Takagi Haruka, Sato Takeru as Kujo Otoya, Fujii Mina as Asada Aoi,  Tokunaga Eri as Anzai Mako, Hisano Masahiro as Tachikawa Hide, Tanaka Tetsushi as Takagi Ryonosuke, Matsushige Yutaka as Kano Ikuma, Katase Nana as Hosho Sayuri, Ashina Sei as Minami Kaoru, Narimiya Hiroki as J (Kanzaki Jun), Kichise Michiko as Orihara Maya, TET as Demon Joichi, Yamaguchi Ryuto as Bluebird (Ando Ken), Takito Kenichi as Shirota Manabu, Taniguchi Shota as Kobayashi Daisuke, Nagakura Daisuke as Tanabe Ryo, TsuneyoshiRie as Arimura Nozomu, Abe Marie as Miyamoto, Tozawa Yasuaki as Nishida

—– First off all the start was kind of disturbing and at the same time interesting.

The first thing I noticed though, even though most people might think this is kind of a shallow thing to say, was that the characters were easy on the eyes. All of them were really good-looking which kind of made you want to watch it more. I think what makes people want to watch this series, except for the fact that it keeps you guessing, is that the actors really matched their characters both physically and through the actions and emotions they showed.

It also somehow reminded me of  Death Note but at the same time gave you a Liar Game feel to it.

Another thing was that, it was so interesting that whatever the characters say you actually understand and remember because you feel like as if, if you miss even one moment or line you would be lost. For example, there was a phrase, I think Aoi said it, ” I see an idiot.” For some odd reason I can’t seem to get it out of  my vocabulary.

By the time you get to second episode, you start to suspect everyone, the writer made it so mind bungling that we, as the audience,  denies to trust any one of the characters. With that said, Fujimaru’s innocence resonated throughout the show. His innocence wasn’t irritating neither was it annoying, it simply seemed like he didn’t know any better than we did. He also had no idea who to trust or what the hell was going on. With this part of the story you can’t help but compare him to the innocent, too trustful/trusting  Nao of Liar Game, but I guess that depends on which series you watched first.

Even though I compare both shows they are really different. Bloody Monday was more technical while Liar Game was overly, in a good way, intellectual.

As I have said earlier, you suspect anyone, and when I say anyone, I mean anyone. The whole story will lead you from one conclusion to another. At first I suspected his father then that guy from prison, J’s father. Every time you think you’ve figured it out something comes out of nowhere and confuses you and thickens the plot, as if it’s not thick enough.

How good is the series?

My father is very closed-minded. He doesn’t like exploring new things he’s unsure of. He has a comfort zone. In short, he doesn’t understand how I can stay tuned to a series or a movie that I barely understand especially because I don’t speak the language. He says that he doesn’t get the logic in it. Anyways, he lets me do what I want because I’ve been the obedient daughter and what other harm can it do except for the shrieking and the random language flare-up. So he watches with me sometimes for the purpose of, maybe, trying to understand me a little. But as they say, “there’s an exception to very rule.” He started watching this series and basically got hooked to it, that’s how good it is…

I mean, I’m talking about my close minded father here, and he gets hooked, not because I recommended it but because it was that good.

The plot is really complicated, and the more the story unfolds the more you get lost. The deeper you delve into it the more the twist and turns. It’s a great enigma. You may never know what happens next.

The great flaw?

The time line.

If you’re a fan 24  then you might understand what I mean. The story was unclear with the time line. You simply guess which day or hour you are in and how much time has passed by. There is no indication whatsoever of how much time has passed by or when is “Monday”?

…But other than that it will satisfy your hunger of mystery and company.

OST:

The story starts very vague. There’s a gap between each characters with no apparent reason. Considering that the first episode was the basis of the series it was very vague, which is probably the reason that I continued watching it and why everybody else would and did watch it.

The first episode ends with an almost death. At first, you’d probably think that someone pushed her or something, but as the story progresses you realize that she killed herself, the thing that would bother you is why?

Each character gets an episode to focus on their life and which makes us understand why.

THE ACTORS

This is actually the first time I’ve encountered Hong Jung Hyun. I have to admit that the guy is really a talented actor. Even though this is the first everything I have watched from him I can’t deny the fact that he seem to be a veteran in the field. He definitely has something to offer, maybe even more.

The rest of the actors on the series were really good as well. It is like watching a suspense-slash- horror flick. The actors acted their part well, considering. There are some parts where you’d see how their craft has not matured yet, you would see that some actors are lacking in emotion and ends up leaving you dumbfounded, but as actors, they pulled it through somehow. The thing that shocked and amazed me the most were the two Idols on the show.

I know Lee Joon, for a fact, was a good actor because of Ninja Assassins. He really gave a lasting impression as the young Rain. I actually thought that he was Japanese or something. On the other hand, Park Ji Yeon was also a good actress from the movie that I have seen her in before but it still greatly shocked me how dramatic both actors can be. There is one part in the series that I suggest everyone to look forward to.

In the last episode, Ba Woo, Lee Joon’s character, and Seo Yool, Park Ji Yeon’s character, talk on a bench. Before hand Seo Yool confesses to everyone the series of events which led to Hyo An’s suicide using Hyo An’s diary which was like her last letter to Seo Yool. On the other hand Seo Yool tells Ba Woo personally about what happened. By the end of the ordeal, everyone’s crying. Seo Yool then gets up and tries to leave Ba woo, who seem to be lost at the overflow of information and in his emotions. Ba Woo then holds her hand telling her to stay.

It was emotional, especially the scenes including the two idols. You can see Ba Woo’s feelings on Lee Joon’s eyes and at the same time feel the guilt and hurt Seo Yool feels through Ji Yeon’s. It was one of those scenes that snatch your heart and leaves a lasting impression. It gives both the idols a green light for their future in acting.

THE LET DOWNS…

The only thing I hated in the whole series was how Baek Hyo is such a timid girl. How could she commit suicide because she was feeling frustrated and because she was caught in between doing the right thing and her best friend? It didn’t really make sense.

Anyways that’s what made the story so I’m kind of okay with it, kind of.

DO YOU WATCH IT?

I‘d say yes. It was entertaining.

It talks a lot about certain social difficulties and flaws which are really happening everywhere in the world. It gives us an inside look at how we, as human beings, are lacking in moral and conduct.
